— Erica received a master's in Technology, Innovation, and Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She’s an experienced TV tester, formative evaluator, and curriculum consultant.
As a researcher for PBS’s hit shows, Sesame Street and Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, I create protocols for storybook fielding sessions and construct questions to evaluate comprehension of curricular goals. After observing kids' reactions to scripts directly, I analyze research data and compose a memo of findings with recommendations to improve comprehension, interactivity, and appeal.
Striking the right balance between entertainment and education in preschool content is crucial. In addition to testing, I study and revise preschool TV scripts and bibles for age appropriateness and humor.
What’s working well? What’s missing the mark? What needs a refresh? I produce tangible recommendations to improve your workshops, apps, classes, museum exhibits, and more by observing, interviewing, and surveying users and stakeholders.
